Dan was born in Greenwich London on September 16th 1988. He is the son to Mark and Claire Clark and is the older brother of Ella.

 

The Clark family has a long tradition in basketball. Mother Claire was a regular in both the England and Great Britain national teams during the 1980’s gathering over 90 caps during this period.  All this after attending University in Canada

 

Father Mark is well known coach for over 30 years in British Basketball. His coaching career started at Crystal Palace where he coached through the youth system until taking the senior women’s team to various Cup and National Championships. During this time he also coached England Senior Women leading them to the commonwealth Gold Medal in 1991.He later the first coach of the newly found British Basketball Federation in 2006 taking the GB senior women’s team to promotion to Division A where they still are today. He currently runs the very successful Barking abbey Academy.

 

Sister Ella is also making a name for herself in basketball. She has played for all of England’s and Great Britain’s youth teams before finally making her debut for Great Britain Senior Women at the 2013 Eurobasket in France. Ella currently attends and plays basketball for Long Beach State University in California from whom she attained a full scholarship in 2010.

The Clark family has a long tradition in basketball.

Father Mark

Mark Clark has coached England and Great Britain over 100 times spread out over two periods. Most recently he lead the GB senior women to Division A promotion in 2007. Before that he lead England to commonwealth Gold in 1991.

Mother Claire

Claire was a very successful player both domestically, playing for Crystal Palace and Internationally earning over 50 caps for both England and Great Britain whilst playing against the elite level of women’s basketball across the world.

Sister Ella

Sister Ella

Ella has been selected to represent England and Great Britain at all age groups before eventually following in her Mothers footsteps and making her debut for the GB senior women’s team in the summer of 2013. She is currently playing in the NCAA with Long Beach State.
