Estudiantes struggled through the beginning of the 2007/2008 ACB season seeing the coach resign after 10 games and as a result Dan was loaned out Leche Rio Breogan Lugo in the Spanish second division (LEB ORO).

Dan made an instant impact at his new team. Gaining a starting role after 2 games he then featured in key role in them gaining the Copa Principe leading the team in scoring and rebounding during the tournament. The season however ended on a low, as Leche Rio Breogan did not win their final game, which would have assured them promotion to the ACB.

Dan started of the season in a starting role with Estudiantes in both the ACB and the Eurocup. Whilst exceling in the first round of the Eurocup the team struggled in the early part of the league season winning only one game in there first five. The 2012 London Olympics were the highlight of Dan’s Professional career so far as he took to the court with the first British basketball team at the Olympics sine 1948. GB, who were drawn in a tough group that saw 3 of the teams from group A make the semi-finals, only notched up 1 win that came in the last group match against China.

Due to consequences of an injury suffered before the Olympics Dan missed the first 3 months of the club season. He eventually made his return in week 9 of the regular season against Valencia B.C.  He found himself on completely revamped team with only 4 players returning from the previous year. Coming of a summer that saw him make the Great Britain Senior Men’s team that competed at Eurobasket in Poland, Great Britain’s first Eurobasket finals for over 30 years. Dan came into the season as the back up power forward. He earned a spot in the regular rotation behind eventual regular season MVP Nick Caner-Medley. The highlight of the year came when Dan hit the game winning three in over time against cross town rivals and European powerhouse Real Madrid.

The season was an overall success as it saw Estudiantes qualify for both the Kings Cup and the playoffs before eventually losing to league champions TAU Vitoria.

Another successful summer that saw Dan help Great Britain to there first wins at a Eurobasket finals against Poland and Portugal he returned to a team that had brought back legendary coach Pepu Hernandez who had led Estudiantes to two Kings Cup and numerous league finals before leaving to take the Spanish National team to World Championship success in 2006.

However the season would not turn out as expected for the Madrid based team. With many struggles and injuries to key players Estudiantes lingered in the relegation spots for much of the year. The replacement of coach Hernandez for Trifon Poch came a little to late as under him the team lost only 3 games and won 8 but it was too little to late as the team fell into relegation after the last game of the season ending a historic run that saw them as one of only 3 teams never to be relegated from the Spanish first division.
